Luxury Travel Magazine – Responsive website, Design, Development

The Challenge

Luxury Travel Magazine is Australia’s only stand alone travel and lifestyle magazine devoted entirely to luxury leisure travel.

The Editor of Luxury Travel Magazine presented a challenge to Komosion to create a highly aspirational website that would appeal to the discerning luxury traveller but at the same time provide an advertising platform for the company to generate revenue from their advertising partners.

There were 500 different travel experiences across 300 destinations that needed to be presented on the website.

The project involved undertaking customer experience research, stakeholder interviews, and a full User Experience Analysis. The team worked in a highly collaborative way with the Luxury Travel Magazine team to ensure we captured the customer insights to create a highly aspirational solution.


There was a need for a highly complex taxonomy for building dynamic content to display the variety of experiences and destinations in an easily digestible manner.

Our team of Content Marketing specialists advised on how to achieve a fine balance between rich engaging content and the provision of advertising real estate within the site.

Komosion applied the ‘mobile first’ design methodology ensuring that the site provided customers who accessed the site on mobile devices with an excellent user experience. We then continued to develop a responsively designed solution that was effective for desktop and tablet devices.

The aspirational designs were then implemented by Komosion’s technical team on Drupal CMS and feature live chat and interfaces to the call centre and travel agent network.
