Austrade support for Komosion

John O'Neill

Komosion has been selected to join Austrade’s Vietnam Smart Cities Landing Pad program to showcase our digital transformation expertise and help strengthen our presence in Southeast Asia.

Our selection also reflects our growing capability to support Australian clients via our 20-strong Technical Services Hub in Ho Chi Minh City.

The program includes bootcamp sessions this month that bring together Australian tech firms with Vietnamese industry experts to explore market opportunities and entry strategies. In May, we’ll join the Australian Pavilion at the Smart City Asia 2025 Exhibition and Forum, in Ho Chi Minh City.

As well as getting a deeper understanding of trends and opportunities in Vietnam and Asia, we expect to gain insights into AI, cloud infrastructure and customer experience design that will be relevant to all our customers.

Partnership with Hoa Sen University

Meanwhile, we have also established a partnership with Hoa Sen University, giving real-world internship experience to MBA and software engineering students and graduates.

The University, established as a School of Technology and Management in 1991, has more 15,000 students and operates four campuses in Ho Chi Minh City. Hoa Sen University offers 30 undergraduate courses and 5 postgraduate streams of study.

One of the world’s fastest growing economies

Last October, the World Bank forecast Vietnam’s economic growth to reach 6.1 percent in 2024 and 6.5 percent in 2025, up from 5 percent in 2023, positioning it among the fastest-growing economies globally over the next five years.

“We hope we are helping build a bridge between our countries by combining our Australian consulting and management expertise with excellent Vietnamese technical delivery,” said John O’Neill, Komosion’s founder and managing director.

Our activity also aligns with Australia’s Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040, led by former Macquarie Bank CEO Sir Nicholas Moore, which underscores that “Australia’s prosperity and security is intimately linked to the prosperity and security of its neighbours”.
