Komosion to run free workshops and donate 5% of leadership practice revenue to Rural Fire Services

Natural disasters like the bushfires that have ravaged Australia since last September remind us that successful leadership is as much about behaviour as it is about a vision.

 As an initiative to promote our leadership practice, Komosion had planned to kick off 2020 with two-hour leadership workshops, free-of-charge for our partners, in Melbourne, Sydney and the Gold Coast.

 The workshops will still be run, in February, but Komosion has also decided to contribute 5% of our leadership practice’s earnings for the remainder of this financial year to Rural Fire Services in fire-affected states.

 Komosion’s Executive Chairman, John O’Neill, said the workshops will be run by leadership facilitator Peter Anderson and focus on working “better together”, including six key attributes which we believe will be critical for success during the coming decade.

 “Peter runs highly engaging workshops and will focus participants on self-awareness of their behaviours, personalities and communication styles,” Mr O’Neill said.


 Lyall Shapiro – NSW 

Lyall has more than 25 years’ experience in Management Consulting across diverse industries in both local and international markets. He has a passion for excellence in CX design and delivery to improve holistic customer and employee experience.

 Lyall’s sector expertise includes banking, wealth and life insurance, adult education, utilities and pharmaceuticals. He holds an MBA from Melbourne Business School and an Industrial Engineering degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa.

Angela Middleton – VIC

Coming off a stellar executive career in finance and banking, Angela begins her new life in 2020 as a non-executive director and consultant specialising in Service Design excellence. 

She has 15 year’s executive experience in Service Design at Me Bank (where she was most recently COO and, before that, Group Executive, Service Excellence) and NAB and prior to that worked in financial services roles at Citi Bank and AFG.

Angela holds a Masters Management from Monash University and recently completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors’ Residential Company Directors Course.

She has worked in CX and Marketing roles client-side across a range of industries including Recruitment (she was Director of Customer Experience APAC at Hudson), Finance and Travel. 

Joanne holds a Bachelor of Commerce specialising in Marketing & International Business from the University of New South Wales and a Masters of Business from the University of Technology, Sydney.
